A SIMPLE PLAN
Not all wedding coordinators are created equal. Try finding one who will sew burlap tablecloths for your reception -- by hand! Alas our search for the perfectionist ended the moment we discovered Tracey Beal of To a T Event Planning. Here are her tips for planning the wedding beyond your dreams. -- D.T.

THE MOST COMMON MISCONCEPTION: “Women initially don’t realize how much work it is to plan a wedding. Even if a bride has decided not to use a wedding coordinator it is imperative that she designate specific roles to her friends and family.” WHAT NOT TO LOSE SLEEP OVER: “A strict schedule of events. The reception timeline should flow with the progress of the party.” MOST IMPORTANT DETAIL: “Capturing the spirit and style of the bride and groom.” SECRET WEDDING LOCATION: “Recently I planned the wedding of a wonderfully free-spirited couple who wanted their guests to truly partake in their passion for the outdoors. They chose Torrey Pines State Reserve in Del Mar. The Reserve has several options for weddings, but my favorite is Torry Circle, which overlooks the lagoon and the ocean.” CATERER OF THE MOMENT:: “Wildflower Catering. They specialize in organic food.” THE LATEST TREND: “Backyard weddings! They are so intimate and the bride and groom (and wedding coordinator) can customize every detail.” ONE THING EVERY BRIDE SHOULD KNOW “It is impossible to please every friend and family member. Focus on what is important to your and your fiancé. And there are a couple of great bridal shops in San Diego that should be checked out before local brides head north.” Contact Tracey at tracey@to0atevents.com.
